UNESCO and the European Inclusive Physical Education Training Programme

UNESCO and the European Inclusive Physical Education Training ProgrammeEIPET is a project, financed by the European Commission through the “Leonardo da Vinci” fund, focusing on the effective inclusion of persons with disabilities in mainstream education. EIPET offers comprehensive and adaptable resources for organizations to readily incorporate inclusive physical education into training programmes and to raise awareness on the importance of sport and physical education for all.

UNESCO is working with EIPET to further this goal and to expand the project to other regions. UNESCO’s collaboration provides the project with an international platform to raise awareness of the importance of inclusive physical education in line with UNESCO’s ‘sport for all’ mandate.

The project resource pack is an ideal aid for sensitizing educational structures to this objective. The pack includes:
  • a ‘ready to go’ module for simple integration into teacher training programmes;
  • a model of best practice for delivery of inclusive physical education; and
  • a resource pack containing materials required to deliver the EIPET module in teacher training institutions.
The digital support resource pack, accompanying the project modules, is a free tool aimed at academic institutions, physical education teachers and students. It is available in English, Lithuanian, and Czech, and is to be translated into Spanish.

To download the resource pack and find more information on the project please visit the EIPET website:Contact: sport@unesco.org
