Anti-doping: Mission, Strategies and Actions
UNESCO’s anti-doping mission is to promote the prevention of, and the fight against, doping in sport, with a view to its elimination.
UNESCO will be actively involved in international efforts to combat doping in sport largely through the administration and monitoring of the International Convention against Doping in Sport, involving collaboration with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and other stakeholders.

UNESCO will employ three key strategies to promote anti-doping and deliver the mission: (1) coordination; (2) education; and (3) capacity building. The later two strategies will be dependent on extra-budgetary contributions.

Outcomes
  • Comprehensive global anti-doping framework
  • Increased awareness of anti-doping issues
  • Effective anti-doping programmes in States Parties
