New dangers?

The cultural heritage as a whole is now subject to new dangers linked to developments and discoveries in our society, such as rising levels of pollution, the globalization of trade, expansion of urban centres and progress in technical means of exploration.

While nothing new, the lack of resources in terms of funding, technology and capacities remains a significant threat to the protection of the cultural heritage.
