Getting to and from Strasbourg

PLANE

All international and national flights to Strasbourg arrive in Entzheim airport. Shuttle trains (TER) are travelling 4 times per hour from the Entzheim railway station, taking only 9 minutes to arrive at Strasbourg main station. The TER station is only 5 minutes walking from the airport and is accessible via a covered pedestrian footbridge.

Fares are €4,10 one-way (combined ticket for tram and TER from the airport). 

TRAIN

From Paris: TGVs (high-speed trains) depart intermittently every hour from railway station Paris – Est and Charles De Gaulle-Airport (terminal 2) and arrive at Strasbourg main station. Estimated travel time is around 2,5 hours.

From the Strasbourg main station there are several public transport options for travelling to the city centre, please refer to 'Getting around in Strasbourg' here below.

BUS

From Frankfurt: Shuttle buses operated by Lufthansa leave for Strasbourg every 2,5 hours from terminal 1 of Frankfurt Airport. You can find them at exit B4-5 in hall B at the Arrivals level.

They serve two stops in Strasbourg after a 2,5 hour drive:

  • Railway Station (Boulevard de Metz)
  • Hilton Hotel (Avenue Herrenschmidt/Rue Fritz Kieffer)

Getting around Strasbourg

Public transport: Buses & Tramway

Several bus lines operate through downtown Strasbourg:

Line 6 will take you from the city centre to the European Court of Human Rights (direction Robertsau, stop Droits de l’Homme) and is easily accessible from the hotels listed above.

There are 6 main tram lines in Strasbourg, designated by the following letters: A, B, C, D, E, F.

Line E stops at the European Court of Human Rights (from the city centre take direction Robertsau-Boecklin, stop Droits de l’Homme) and is easily accessible from the hotels listed above.
Lines B, F, and C will take you around downtown.

From the main station to the hotels/venues:

You can either take tram line C (direction Neuhof Rudolphe Reuss) and get off at stop ‘Republique’ to switch to line E (direction Robertsau Boecklin) or walk from the main entrance to the bus and tram stop ‘Faubourg de Saverne’ where you can:
- hop on tram line C (see above)
- board bus line 6 straightaway (direction Robertsau)

Tickets are available on the platforms of tram stops and via the mobile application U’Go. Single fares are €1,60, 24h-tickets are €4,10.

Several cab companies operate in Strasbourg with fares starting at €1,90.
