UNESCO Chair in Journalism and Communication (122), established in 1996 within the framework of ORBICOM, at Kazakh State University (Kazakhstan).

Journalism; Communication.

Objectives

  • To develop and reinforce knowledge and expertise in the field of journalism and communication in Kazakhstan.
  • To develop and reinforce teaching and research as well as information and communication, particular attention being given to: curriculum development, independent and pluralist media for a democratic society, communication in favour of economic and social development, media development, communication ethics, access to new technologies and their applications, communication laws, and media management.
