UNESCO Chair in Peace Studies (807), established in 2008 at the University of Innsbruck (Austria).

Peace studies.

Objectives

The purpose of the Chair shall be to promote an integrated system of research, training, information and documentation in the field of peace studies. It will serve as a means of facilitating collaboration between high-level, internationally recognized researchers and teaching staff of the University and other institutions in Austria, in Europe and North America, and in other regions of the world.

The specific objective of this Chair are:

  • to reinforce its existing network of cooperating partners through further regional, as well as international, cooperation;
  • to complement the current teaching module of the Peace programme at the University of Innsbruck with a preparatory on-line module, which shall be designed by the Chair and integrated into the University’s teaching structure.
