Disciplines related to human rights and democracy.

Objectives

  • To promote an integrated system of research, training, information and documentation activities in the field of human rights and democracy
  • To facilitate sub regional and regional collaboration between high-level, internationally recognized researchers and teachers and the research and teaching staff of the University.
  • To develop progressively a nationwide system of permanent education for human rights and democracy, including the elaboration of special educational programmes on human rights and democracy for the personnel of schools and institutions of higher education, elected representatives of local and national bodies, governmental and municipal officials, lawyers, military, law-enforcement and penitentiary personnel, as well as media personnel, etc.
