UNESCO Chair for peace, human rights and democracy (383), established in 1998 at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic).

Fields/Disciplines

Disciplines related to humans rights, democracy and peace.

Objectives

  • To promote an integrated system of research, training, information and documentation in the field of peace, human rights, democracy and methods of prevention and peaceful resolution of conflicts.
  • To facilitate national, regional and sub-regional collaboration between high-level, internationally recognized researchers and teaching staff of the University.
  • To promote education for peace, humans rights and democracy in Dominican Republic by the training of educators and the support of teachers in these fields.
