UNESCO Chair in Water and Environment Management for Sustainable Cities (989), established in 2012 at Sharif University of Technology (Islamic Republic of Iran).

Water and environment management for sustainable cities.

Objectives

The specific objectives of this Chair are to:

  • strengthen North-South, South-South and triangular cooperation on water and environment management for sustainable cities;
  • assess needs and problems at the national and regional levels, design and carry out research projects to address them, and disseminate results widely;
  • design and implement activities facilitating multi-stakeholder participation, networking, sharing of knowledge and good practices; and,
  • develop training materials at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels,  and provide training.
