Documentation CentreThe documentation centre of the National Commission is incorporated in the documentation centre of the Ministry of Education and Culture. The UNESCO publications and other material (journals, CD-ROMS etc.) from its committees or bodies (i.e. IOC, WHC etc.) are kept in the library situated in the office of the National Commission. The library is open to the public for consultation. In the cases where the books received are relevant to the field of activity or study of a certain ministry department, governmental or NG agency or organisation, they are informed about the publications, or the material is directly forwarded to them. Concerning the UNESCO invitations for submission of prize candidatures, they are published in the local press and media or forwarded directly to the competent body, depending on the relevant guidelines received from UNESCO.
Structure of the CommissionPlenary meetings take place every 2 months according to Article VI of the National Commission's constitution. During the sessions, decisions are taken concerning the action plan for the year and the organisation of activities. In the near future, committees will be organised.
Members/CompositionCurrently, the National Commission has 6 members apart from the President and the Secretary General. Each member represents the following institutions: Ministry of Education and Culture (Presidents of ASPnet), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Planning Bureau, Department of Antiquities, University of Cyprus, Press and Information Office.
