Vulnerable countries highlighted in discussions on Sustainable Development Goals in New York

The path to sustainable development for countries in special situations was highlighted at the United Nations High-Level Political forum in New York this week.

At a panel debate, moderated by Gyan Chandra Acharya, Under Secretary-General and High-Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Islands Developing States, speakers introduced specific challenges for vulnerable country groups such as multidimensional poverty, the effects of climate change, the provision of health and education services and resilience building.
