In the framework of UNESCO's international commitment, notably as lead agency for the International Decade for the rapprochement of cultures (2013-20022), decisive activities will address a series of critical issues pertaining to the respect of cultural diversity and of human rights. This activity aims at building the capacity of governmental senior officials, local authorities and civil society leaders operating in different policy fields to develop relevant policies and programmes on intercultural dialogue and citizenship in full conformity with human rights principles and standards which benefit in particular young people
