The exhibition was led by Hedva Ser, UNESCO Artist for Peace, and godmother of this project, and the inauguration included the participation of H.E. Mr Antoni Marti, Prime Minister of the Principality of Andorra, which provided support, as well as H.E. Mr Gilbert Saboya Sunyé, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Director-General thanked the Principality of Andorra for its longstanding support to this initiative, and for the strength of its overall partnership with UNESCO.

Since 2008, under the patronage of UNESCO, Art Camp-Andorra has brought together more than 150 artists, from all continents, to express themselves, to share their passions, to engage with young people.

“The message of this exhibition goes to the heart of UNESCO’s core beliefs,” said Irina Bokova. 

“This is the belief that art is a powerful form of dialogue, the conviction that dialogue is essential for respect, for human rights and dignity, for peace. In turbulent times, I believe this has never been so important.” 

She praised Hedva Ser for her "talent, passion for peace, creativity and intercultural dialogue."

Prime Minister Antoni Marti recalled that the Principality of Andorra is a land of welcome that embodies the values of Art Camp, commending the project for uniting people across cultures and around universal values of tolerance and peace. 

“The United Nations should speak more about culture, and this exhibition is a step in that direction,” he affirmed.

Hedva Ser shared the spirit of Art Camp, through which artists from across five continents work together for 10 days, forging “new friendships, transcending differences through art and finding a common language of respect and shared goals. By building bridges, this initiative translates UNESCO’s mandate to build peace into reality through art and intercultural dialogue.”
