Statistics

About

Part of the mission of the United Nations is to serve as a global centre for data on all issues, making information compiled throughout the UN system available worldwide. When it comes to statistics, it is our responsibility to manage and facilitate the development of the global statistical system. We strive to develop standards, principles and norms for global statistical activities, and support the efforts of countries to strengthen their national statistical systems.

Statistical information that is made available worldwide touch upon a wide range of issues: economic, demographic and social statistics, energy, gender, industrial and tourism statistics. It also includes measurements of international trade and economic globalization and monitoring of Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda.
