UN Secretary-General welcomes the Action 2015 Campaign with a group of 15-year olds. The campaign, by civil society, coincides with the UN’s campaign, “2015:Time for Global Action.” The 15-year olds are the same age as the landmark Millennium Development Goals that have helped lift millions from poverty. In 2015, the world has an opportunity to further advance action to eliminate poverty and to tackle climate change.
Organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Earth Hour encourages individuals, companies, organizations and Governments throughout the world to switch off their lights for one hour at 8:30 p.m., local time worldwide on 29 March.
The event also recognizes that everyone’s involvement is needed in order to make a collective impact and take accountability for their ecological footprint.

In 2015, France will be hosting and presiding the 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21/CMP11), otherwise known as “Paris 2015” which will take place in Paris-Le Bourget from 30th of November to 11th of December 2015.
