Presentation of the United Nations World Water Development Report 2016 at the European Parliament
The World Water Development Report 2016, Water and Jobs, was presented at the European Parliament on September 28th; the event has been organized by WWAP in collaboration with the MEP Water Group and the UNESCO Liaison Office in Brussels, under the patronage of the Slovak Presidency of the European Union Council.
The session addressed the water jobs nexus, highlighting the enabling role of water for the European economy and labor market, and will call decision makers’ attention to the negative impacts of water scarcity for the socio-economic and environmental sustainability of our society.
