The Biosphere Reserves make up the World Network of Biosphere Reserves, a dynamic and interactive organisation. The strategic work of the World Network includes regional and sub-regional networks, in addition to thematic networks. For Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal, the geo-cultural network is IberoMAB.
The global list of Biosphere Reserves is updated every year, and applications are presented approximately one year ahead of time.
