UN System Folder

The United Nations is committed to supporting the New Partnership or Africa's Development (NEPAD) as the framework for addressing poverty and underdevelopment throughout the African continent. The UN system's diverse funds, programmes, agencies and departments are actively supporting NEPAD priorities and Millennium Development goals in line with their particular areas of expertise.

The work of the Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA) aims to encourage and support the various efforts of UN system organizations by promoting action, including joint initiatives, and by reporting annually to the General Assembly on United Nations System support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development (UNBISnet).

OSAA coordinates and guides the preparation of Africa-related reports and convenes an inter-departmental task force on African affairs to ensure coherence and an integrated approach in the United Nations support to Africa.
