Jointly building the “Belt and Road” towards the Sustainable Development Goals

UN DESA’s Development Policy and Analysis Division (DPAD) has recently launched a capacity development project, in cooperation with China, to assess the “macroeconomic implications of the Belt and Road Initiative” for the countries along the Belt and Road, in the broad context of realizing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

About

The United Nations works on emerging cross-sectoral development issues and on international cooperation for development. It serves as a think-tank for development economics, supporting countries’ integration into the world economy and successfully works towards the goals and targets of the UN Development Agenda.

It monitors and analyses global economic trends and prospects and formulates advice for global macroeconomic policy coordination. It also analyses long-term development trends and prepares policy advice on the international development agenda, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
