Life and love in islands

The FSM Youth Summit has become an annual event where youth organizations in the FSM work together to resolve current issues affecting youth in the region. The implementation of this project aims to achieve one of these goals:

National Youth Policy Objective 6.7: "Youth With National Pride"

To nurture national pride and maintain a spirit of cooperation and partnership among the young people of the Federated States of Micronesia.

- To promote and encourage greater cooperation to build strong relationship among youth and organizations leading to a strong sense of pride and national identity for those who have gathered. By working together to resolve current issues affecting youth in the islands and the region as well.

- Youth in each state of the FSM would compete to design the best promotion materials or posters for use on the roadsides or where sports are being held. The winner in each state will be given $100 as prize money.

- The winner's design will be use in the state as a promotional board, banners and posters in the islands for the purpose of strengthening national pride and unity among youth during the upcoming summit.

The designs can focus on gender-inclusiveness and can be related to health issues including HIV/AIDS, TB in the FSM, suicide preventions, early and/or unwanted pregnancy preventive measures, training in the community with enrichment programs and partnerships among adult-youth, parent-child sharing etc...
