The Champs Club Kidz sessions, Grenada
2 June 2009
At this stage, we have completed the filming of 13 episodes of the kids talk show "Champs Club Kidz". For the past three months we have been filming sessions with the kids as they learnt about HIV & AIDS. That went well and I think a lot of learning took place.
We had a total of about 22 kids ranging between 4 and 12 participate in the sessions in addition to about 7 older individuals. Musicians also joined in the action to sing songs with the kids about HIV.
We also arranged a session for parents and kids to learn about HIV & AIDS together. The turnout wasn’t as great as we hoped for with less than half the expected number turning out, about 20. However, we have time to schedule another session during the summer holiday, which should capture those we missed.
We are slightly behind schedule regarding the broadcast of the shows. However we are aiming to begin broadcast on July 1st, 2009. The show will run for 13 weeks, after which we should be taking it to the regional broadcaster, Caribvision.
During the next two weeks, we will execute the promotional campaign on radio, television, newspaper and internet, although the show is already been talked about excitedly by the kids in their respective schools.
Meantime the end stage final editing continues and a demo is expected to be completed by the end of next week.
We will keep you posted on our progress. Talk to you all soon.
