World Book and Copyright Day Essay Contest

Since 2002, the Korean National Commission for UNESCO has organised the “World Book and Copyright Day” Essay Contest for students of ASPnet (Associated Schools Project Network) and CCAP (Cross-Cultural Awareness Programme) associated schools. Each year the contest is conducted according to UNESCO’s principal theme, and this year’s theme is cultural diversity. Students are requested to read about the world’s diverse cultures, civilisations and cultural heritage, and write an essay describing their thoughts on cultural diversity, multi-cultural understanding and tolerance. Selected winners will receive certificates along with small prizes prepared by KNCU on the occasion of the World Day for Cultural Diversity, Dialogue and Development (21 May).
