The Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO) is a major cultural, scientific, and professional public institution.

Its mission is to teach the languages of Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Africa, as well as those of the indigenous peoples of the Americas. INALCO also offers instruction on geography, history, institutions, as well as political, economic and social life of the above-mentioned regions. Some 93 languages and civilizations are taught at INALCO.
