Festival Corto DEL MED - Call For Entries

4th edition of the Festival Corto DEL MED in Avignon, France

For its 4th edition, which will take place from 10 to 13 June 2010, Corto Del MED is seeking short films completed within the past 2 years, dealing with political, economic, social, cultural, and/or cross-cultural issues pertaining to Mediterranean countries, which the director comes from.

The jury grants 4 awards:
- Best Documentary
- Best Animation
- Best Fiction
- and the Audience Choice Award.

The winner who lives furthest away is invited to the next festival, the 2 others receive a voucher from the FNAC.

To submit their film, candidates must send a copy before 10 January 2010:
- as an MPEG2 file, subtitled in French AND/or English, or dialogue in French AND/or English
- the subscription form, completed and signed, available on www.altermediterranee.org

  • Points of the 1997 Declaration related to this subject:
    - Parag. 18: (...) New means of private funding, from major foundations to small companies, must be encouraged as supplementary sources of funds, particularly with a view to supporting the creation, the expression and the dissemination of contemporary works.
    - Parag. 19: Public and private funding sources are invited to respond favourably to requests made by artists in developing countries or countries in transition. UNESCO’s intervention is particularly necessary in order to identify and publicize existing opportunities for private funding of the arts worldwide.
