5th Edition of the International Prize of Humour and Custom Satire

Theme of the Prize : "World cup"

The Province of Lodi and the town of Codogno, Italy, with the help of public or private organizations and institutions, are launching the 5th Edition of the International Prize of Humour and Custom Satire entitled: "Giuseppe Novello: a good family man".

Both professional and amateur graphic artists can participate to the competition, by sending unpublished works together with the enrollment form. Only original works will be accepted. Each artist is allowed to participate with 3 works at most.

Each work have to be part of the competition spirit and deal with humour and custom satire. For this reason, works about political satire will not be accepted, as well as drawings against decency.

The submission deadline is 11 January 2010.

The winning drawings will be exposed at the Show of the International Prize of Humour and Custom Satire that will take place in Codogno from 6 February 2010.

  • Points of the 1997 Declaration related to this subject:
    - Parag. 18:
    (...) New means of private funding, from major foundations to small companies, must be encouraged as supplementary sources of funds, particularly with a view to supporting the creation, the expression and the dissemination of contemporary works.
    - Parag. 19: Public and private funding sources are invited to respond favourably to requests made by artists in developing countries or countries in transition. UNESCO’s intervention is particularly necessary in order to identify and publicize existing opportunities for private funding of the arts worldwide.
