Munich International Short Film Festival (Muenchner Filmwerkstatt) - Call for Entries 2010

MUNICH INTERNATIONAL launches a call for entries for next year's short film festival which will take place from17 to 23 June 2010.

The festival will showcase the world's best contemporary short films at the historical Gloria Filmpalast in the heart of the Bavarian capitol.

Submissions are open to non-German language films of all genres (fiction, animation, documentary, experimental, etc.), from any nation of the world. Films must not have been shown in Bavaria at a festival, in a theatre or on Bavarian television before, and must not exceed a length of 15 minutes. All non-English films must have English subtitles.

The deadline for submissions is 28 February 2010, but the applicants are required to send their film as soon as possible.

  • Points of the 1997 Declaration related to this subject:
    - Parag. 18: (...) New means of private funding, from major foundations to small companies, must be encouraged as supplementary sources of funds, particularly with a view to supporting the creation, the expression and the dissemination of contemporary works.
    - Parag. 19: Public and private funding sources are invited to respond favourably to requests made by artists in developing countries or countries in transition. UNESCO’s intervention is particularly necessary in order to identify and publicize existing opportunities for private funding of the arts worldwide.
