Haiti has one cultural site on the World Heritage List.

Through the UNESCO Office in Port-au-Prince, the Government has launched activities related to the impact of the slave trade on Haitian society. In the framework of the new strategy of the Slave Route Project, Haiti is participating in the inventory of Caribbean sites and places of memory related to the slave trade.

UNESCO's Seal of Excellence programme, which aims to promote quality handicrafts, has been implemented in Haiti.

The Tribute 21 project, initiated by UNESCO in cooperation with Felissimo Corporation has led to the opening of a DREAM Centre in Pétion-Ville. This centre endeavours to ensure the social reintegration of street children through artistic activities.
