  • Vigdís Finnbogadóttir
    En 1998, S. Exc. la señora Vigdís Finnbogadóttir fue nombrada Embajadora de Buena Voluntad de la UNESCO. Primera Mujer electa presidente de una nación democrática, S. Exc. la señora Vigdís Finnbogadóttir es una de las personalidades islandesas más apreciadas en su país. Presidenta de la Comisión Mundial de la UNESCO para la ética y el conocimiento científico y tecnológico, sus intereses son principalmente la bioética, la información y la comunicación.

    S. Exc. la señora Vigdís Finnbogadóttir proyecta reunir a las naciones en objetivos primordiales comunes: la defensa de los derechos de la mujer, la preservación del medio ambiente y el acceso a una educación de calidad. Defiende la idea de una educación multilingüe y valoriza siempre la importancia de la diversidad de las lenguas en las numerosas conferencias internacionales sobre este tema a las cuales participó.
