    Embajador de Buena Voluntad de la UNESCO, Omer Zülfü Livaneli es una de las personalidades más notables de la vida cultural, artística y política de Turquía, donde nació. Autor, compositor, intérprete, director de orquesta y realizador de cine, este artista polivalente transmite los mensajes de la UNESCO a favor del pluralismo cultural y la tolerancia desde 1996, ańo de su nombramiento. Livaneli atrae a más de medio millón de espectadores a algunos de sus conciertos. Sus canciones las interpretan cantantes de fama mundial y algunas de ellas han sido grabadas por la prestigiosa Orquesta Sinfónica de Londres.
    Livaneli nunca separó su vida artística de sus convicciones humanitarias. Utiliza su música para transmitir mensajes de paz, tolerancia y comprensión internacional, apoyando así mediante la música la promoción de la cultura de la paz. Livaneli es uno de los mejores defensores de la amistad greco-turca y lo demuestra dando conciertos en ambos países para promover las buenas relaciones entre los dos vecinos.
