    Type of Institution:
    The IVTB is a parastatal body responsible for: monitoring the needs of training in consultation with relevant authorities, administering and operating schemes, and providing for, promoting, and assisting in the training of persons employed/to be employed in the commercial, technical and vocational fields. It is governed by a Council which consists of representatives from the public and the private sectors. The IVTB is responsible for the: planning, monitoring and evaluating training programmes; design and development of training curricula; implementation of training schemes and training programmes; and financing of training. It promotes training on a regular basis through industry (in-house training); institutional training; apprenticeships; and distance learning. IVTB also organises training of trainers programmes.
