Background Papers

The Global Monitoring Report is the result of a broad research exercise: for every edition, the team commissions papers from researchers and institutes around the world in an effort to obtain the most up-to-date knowledge on a range of critical education issues.

The papers prepared for the 2005 report are currently classified by author under two groups: Country Studies and Thematic studies. Those commissioned for the 2003/4 report report on gender by author.

Should you wish to quote extracts, please cite the title, the author and source them as background papers for the EFA Global Monitoring Report 2005 or 2003/4.

We trust these papers will be a valuable addition to current research on education for all.
