LegislaciónThe Constitution of the National Commission was adopted on February 21st 1994.
Centro de documentaciónThe Documentation Centre of the Commission is part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Library, which is administered by a professional librarian. The Centre is mainly visited by students, researchers and journalists.
Estructura de la ComisiónThe National Commission consists of the following organs:
- The General Assembly, which meets every year;
- The Executive Committee (composed of 9 members), which meets twice a year;
- Five Programme Committees specialized in the UNESCO fields of competence
- The Secretariat.
Miembros/ComposiciónThe Membership of the National Commission, which is renewed every four years, comprises 25 persons representing the Ministries, governmental departments, national institutions and NGOs involved in UNESCO's fields of competence, as well as parliamentarians, representatives of the media and prominent individuals chosen in their personal capacities.
Comité EjecutivoThe National Commission has no Executive Committee.
Asamblea GeneralThe National Commission has a General Assembly which meets annually.
Comités o SubcomitésThe National Commission has specialized Committees in the fields of competence of UNESCO, respectively for: Education; Science; Culture; Communication and Transdisciplinary Projects;
Interacción con UNESCO y otras Comisiones Nacionales
DescripciónThe Azerbaijani National Commission co-operates with the Iranian Commission and European National Commissions (France, Germany, Russian Federation, Ukraine). It also maintains working relations with the UNESCO Field Office of Almaty (Kazakstan).
