Partners and fundraising
The Programme for the Education of Children in Need is financed entirely by private funds. Since its creation in 1992, over US$33 million has been raised in private funds and these have been fully and directly invested into immediate support for over 332 projects in 92 countries worldwide.
The vast majority of funds have been collected thanks to the inexhaustible and impressive efforts of UNESCO Special Ambassador, Mrs Ute-Henriette Ohoven and her Foundation for UNESCO. The Programme also benefits from a whole host of enthusiastic partnerships from within both the business and entertainment world.

Currently, key partnerships exist between Repetto Ballet Shoes, Lauren Child with Hachette Children’s Books and Schwarzkopf/Henkel. Other campaigns with personalities like Ricky Martin, the boxing champions the Klitschko brothers and Michael Schumacher, to name a few, have also contributed to raising funds and bringing further publicity.

Many big corporations and entrepreneurs are looking to give a deeper ethical and social commitment to their investments and business ties. UNESCO can create fruitful connections between corporations and key socio-economic or educational issues.
