Joint Session of the International Bioethics Committee of UNESCO (IBC) and the Intergovernmental Bioethics Committee (IGBC)

This joint session responds to the wish of IGBC’s Member states that efforts be made to foster dialogue and interaction between IBC and IGBC, in particular before any report on issues related to the follow up to the UNESCO Declarations in the field of bioethics is issued.

On this occasion, the members of the two Committees will have the opportunity to discuss and exchange views on the advancement of the work of IBC on social responsibility and health and cloning and governance respectively, thus allowing IGBC Member States to express their views on the work done so far and enriching the reflection of IBC before finalising its work.
