Linking curricula and poverty reduction in Africa 2006-10-13 8:00 am IBE
The Curriculum and Poverty Alleviation Project was created at the request of nine African countries (Angola, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Congo-Brazzaville, Mali, Mauritius, Mozambique, Niger and Rwanda). Its objective is to promote capacity and transform curricula to better reach the goals of both EFA and poverty alleviation programmes.

Curriculum specialists from these countries are currently attending the Fourth International Seminar "Poverty alleviation: curriculum implementation and school management" (Maputo, 9-14 October 2006), along with national and international experts on educational management, organized by UNESCO’s International Bureau of Education and the Ministry of Education and Culture of Mozambique.

The project is funded by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science, the Swiss government (DDC and OFES), the UNESCO programme of capacity building for Education For All and internal IBE funds.
