“UNESCO GREEN CITIZENS: Pathfinders for Change” is an exhibition which aims to pay tribute to the men and women who give life to educational projects for sustainable development worldwide.
Eight remarkable projects featuring men and women making a real contribution to education for sustainable development are featured in the UNESCO Green Citizens: Pathfinders for Change exhibition. It will be presented inside five international Moroccan airports from November 2016 to March 2017:
- Marrakech Menara’s airport in November 2016
- Casablanca Mohammed V’s airport in December 2016
- Rabat-Salé’s airport in January 2017
- Tanger’s airport in February 2017
- Fès Sais’ airport in March 2017

The exhibition, which will be launched on 14 November on UNESCO’s and the Mohamed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection’s pavilions on the COP22 civil society area, reveals the talent and determination of people rising to the challenge of making the right choices for a sustainable world.

In partnership with the Klorane Botanical Foundation and SIPA PRESS, UNESCO launched the UNESCO Green Citizens initiative, prior to COP 21 (December 2015), to shift the spotlight on men and women around the world - Pathfinders for change - who have launched remarkable projects in education or awareness for sustainable development to build a better future.

In order to give a local dimension to the exhibition, a ninth project of education for sustainable development led in the Marrakech’s palm grove has been added to the exhibition thanks to the collaboration of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection. The Moroccan Airports Authority and Royal Air Maroc also joined UNESCO in this important project of raising awareness to the major challenges related to education for sustainable development.

Besides the exhibition, the UNESCO GREEN CITIZENS project also provides a platform for the exchange of experiences to enable educators from all around the world to share their projects on education for sustainable development.
