    The Department of Education Circular 2013/16 requires every school to have an up-to-date written policy on how it will address the delivery of Relationships and Sexuality Education. This guidance offers advice for schools on how to develop and review their policy.

  4. School-based primary school sexuality education for migrant children in Beijing, China

    In May 2007, Beijing Normal University launched a programme of school-based sexuality education for migrant children in Xingzhi Primary School in Beijing. Over the past seven years, the project team has developed a school-based sexuality education curriculum using the International Technical Guidance on Sexuality Education published by UNESCO. The team has developed 12 volumes of textbooks for grades 1–6; trained teachers to deliver sexuality education using participatory teaching methods; and involved parents in the sexuality education process. …

    It is very important that sex and relationships education (SRE) programme developers attempt to elicit, understand and incorporate young people's views in the SRE development and implementation processes. This paper reports the findings of a study that sought to identify young people's self-identified learning needs and priorities regarding sexual health that should be included in school-based SRE. Seven hundred and fifteen primary and secondary students aged between eight years and over 20 years old completed a survey between June and September 2007. …

    The main goal of the manual is to provide regional coordinators with materials to conduct teacher-training in the HFLE Common Curriculum on two unit themes: Self and Interpersonal Relationships (which incorporates violence prevention) and Sexuality and Sexual Health (which includes HIV/AIDS prevention). The document can serve as a regional coordinator's training manual in order to standardize teacher training across the four CARICOM countries.
