Ms. Anna Seeger is an Assistant Programme Specialist at IIEP and a member of the Technical Cooperation team. Her current work focuses on integrating conflict and disaster risk reduction into education sector policy and planning processes.

Anna joined IIEP in 2015 after several assignments with the German Cooperation for International Development (Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit, GIZ), the Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE) and as an independent consultant.

She lived and worked in Yemen, Pakistan, Lebanon and Nepal and has travelled extensively in Sub-Sahara Africa. 

Her areas of expertise include educational planning, mainstreaming gender, conflict-sensitivity and peacebuilding in education, education and youth, and capacity development.

Education

  • Diploma (Masters equivalent) in  Educational Sciences from Philipps-University Marburg (Germany) with Sociology, Peace-and Conflict Studies and Modern Standard Arabic as minor subjects
  • Certificate in Gender Studies from Philipps-University Marburg (Germany) 
  • Certificate in Modern Standard Arabic from The Yemen College of Middle Eastern Studies, Sana’a (Yemen)
