Considering that male involvement in reproductive health is critical to the success of the RH programs, with a positive impact on the health and well-being of women and children, and in line with the country's commitment to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, it is deemed imperative to systematically respond to this issue as well as address their specific reproductive health concerns such as sexual dysfunctions, androgen deficiency, testicular and prostate cancers. Thus, this National Policy and Strategic Framework on Male Involvement in Reproductive Health is hereby formulated.

Great numbers of men report experiencing violence as children and these experiences have significant lifelong effects, according to the new analysis of the International Men and Gender Equality Survey (IMAGES) dataset included in this report. Adult men who were victims or witnesses of domestic violence as children, for instance, likely come to accept violence as a conflict resolving tactic not only in intimate partnerships but also in their wider lives. …
The authors conducted a cross-sectional study using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Participants included 38 unmarried rural men in four focus-group discussions and a representative sample of 316 similarly profiled men, ages 17-22 years. This report summarizes multi-country findings from the International Men and Gender Equality Survey (IMAGES), a comprehensive household questionnaire on men's attitudes and practices - along with women's opinions and reports of men's practices - on a wide variety of topics related to gender equality. The report documents the findings from a 2006 survey about sexuality and sexual health conducted by the Institute for Social Development Studies in Hanoi, with the support from the Ford Foundation. The survey aims at providing preliminary answers to major questions regarding Vietnamese men's sexuality such as perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors of Vietnamese men toward sexuality, issues that men face in their sexual health, including sexually transmitted diseases and sexual dysfunctions as well as their needs and usage of sexual service.
If the society focuses on male adolescents, properly cultivating and channelising their masculinity, it can benefit the society. Any intervention programme that seeks to address adolescence issues will be incomplete unless it addresses masculinity. This book titled Masculinity for Boys is based on ten years of YAAR's work with the male youth in India on the issues of gender and sexual health. The authors hope to reduce the "fake" masculinity pressures on boys with this information. At the same time, they want to help boys become true men by understanding what real masculinity is.

It seeks to develop supportive relationships, expand analysis skills, decision-making, problem solving and negotiating skills and to increase access to resources. It is also designed to promote gender equality as well as tolerance, appreciation and diversity in order to prevent communal violence. This publication provides "knowledge, values and understanding of issues on sexuality to boys and young men". It centres on the deconstruction of gender stereotypes that lead to lack of communication and risk behaviour, and advocates a positive view of sexuality to empower individuals to make healthy, respectful and responsible choices. The authors believe that, in order to achieve behaviour change, sex education programmes must be "realistic and closer to the realities and feelings" of young people. …
This study (one of the few of its kind conducted in Laos) provides a wealth of information on the sexual behaviour of young men, which could guide future HIV prevention programs. While the survey only looks at the attitudes and activities of men living and working in Vientiane, it nonetheless illuminates both important similarities and differences in Lao male behaviour compared to men in other countries, including countries in the immediate region.
