Celebration of the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage
Celebration organized on 27 October 2016 in Macau, People’s Republic of China, by International Council for Film, Television and Audiovisual Communication (ICFT)
This year’s slogan for the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage Celebration was “It’s your story, Don’t lose it!”.
The celebration was organized in several schools and universities in Macau which were open to the public. It was composed of four main events: Opening ceremony, Film screening, Academic seminar and Competition in line with this year’s slogan.
The academic seminar “World Heritage - a common good”, illustrated with audiovisual significant examples, conveyed the spirit of UNESCO on protection and promotion of world heritage and diversity of cultural expressions (1972 and 2005 Conventions). During the celebration, a selection of world famous films was presented. This celebration gathered students ranging from primary to university levels, who interacted in a lively way with the lecturers.
The celebration was organized in collaboration with the Macau Films & Television Productions and Culture Association (MFTPA), and was supported by the Macau Foundation and the Macau Government Tourist Office.
