In November 2009, the Cairo-based US Naval Medical Research Unit No. 3 (NAMRU-3) invited representatives from several institutions and organizations involved in HIV/AIDS-response to build a national forum consisting of partners from different sectors to combat stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV and AIDS (PLHA) in Egypt. The HIV/AIDS training workshop for Religious Leaders (RL) was conducted on 31 January 2009. The main objective is to mobilize for HIV/AIDS prevention, to raise awareness and sensitize religious leaders with regards to various aspects of the HIV epidemic, including stigma and discrimination, to become active agents in dealing with PLWH, and to incorporate HIV messages in their work in the UAE and the region. …

This is a report of the International Conference for People Living with HIV/AIDS in Warsaw, Poland in August 1999. The conference was attended by 470 women and men from 58 countries. The four Warsaw conference themes were; Building an effective global advocacy agenda, Microbicides and women, Creating guidelines for donating medicines; Looking at the impact of the conference in central and Eastern Europe. The contents of this book are drawn from contributions to the Global Conference on School Health and HIV/AIDS Prevention.
