When men don’t share the responsibilities or benefits and burdens of sexual and reproductive health, women bear the majority of the responsibility for their own and their families’ sexual and reproductive health. This approach exacerbates gender inequalities and leads to poor health outcomes. The Global AIDS Response Progress Report 2014 provides an appraisal of progress towards achieving High Level Meeting (HLMs) targets set in 2001. Zimbabwe participated in the high level meeting during the 65th Session of the United Nations General Assembly held in June 2011 to review progress made in the HIV and AIDS response since 2001. This paper summarizes a review of 83 evaluations of such programs in developing and developed countries.
