  5. Report of the mid-term review of the national HIV and AIDS strategic plan 2006-2011

    The multi-sectoral National Strategic Plan (NSP) for HIV and AIDS was developed and launched in 2006. It covers a five-year period from 2006-2011. The NSP was developed through an extensively participatory process following the joint review of the national multi-sectoral response to HIV and AIDS in 2005.   6. Schools as Centres of Care and Support (SCCS): Responding to the Needs of Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children in Rural Areas

    Southern Africa's rural and impoverished communities are some of the hardest hit by the HIV and AIDS pandemic. Large numbers of vulnerable children in these AIDS-affected communities struggle to access resources and services they desperately need and are entitled to. Despite this, most children still attend school, making schools an obvious avenue through which to address the multiplicity of needs of vulnerable children.   7. Afghanistan HIV/AIDS Prevention Project. Grant No. H-328 AF. Annual project report (March) July 2007 to June 2008

    This annual project report for the Afghanistan HIV/AIDS Prevention Project includes the period from July 2007 to June 2008, including the startup period from March 2007, when PPF funds were made available. The project became effective on 17 September 2007. Six HACCA HIV/AIDS (Coordinating Committees of Afghanistan) coordination meetings were held. Several guidelines (HIV testing, TBHIV, Harm Reduction) were prepared (see Annex list). From March 2007, when PPF funds were made available, until 31 June 2008, about $260,000 were expended.

  10. The community-operated RH/BCC project in Myanmar

    This document was published with the support from United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning (JOICFP) which has executed a Regional Project for Asia, namely, Strengthening of National Capacity for RH/BCC through Community-operated RH (CoRH) Programmes" 2000-2003 (RAS/00/PO6). This project was aimed to achieve the goal of RH sub-programmes of the UNFPA, and Myanmar has choosen as pilot base for country level review and IEC strategy development along with the countries of Bangladesh, Cambodia and the Philippines.
