This review of socio-economic empowerment initiatives for women living with HIV in Asia complements the assessment of the Women and Wealth Project (WWP), supported by the United Nations Development Programme Asia-Pacific Regional Centre and implemented by the Population and Community Development Association of Thailand. The purpose of this review is to compare the approach used in the WWP with those employed in other ten similar initiatives in Cambodia, China, India, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam and make recommendations based upon the findings of the WWP assessment and the review.

This report outlines the background, achievements and lessons learned during the start up, implementation and close out of the Alliance's three-year United States Agency for International Development - funded project, Expanding the Role of Networks of People Living with HIV/AIDS in Uganda (the Networks Model project). The report aims to support learning across the Alliance's programmes and the wider HIV response.
The National Strategic Plan for a Comprehensive and Multisectoral Response to HIV/AIDS 2006-2010 (NSP II) was originally developed in 2005. This revised version of the NSP II covers the remaining three years (2008-2010) and concerns an update. The revised NSP II is part of the National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) for 2006-2010, which in turn supports the Royal Government's Rectangular Strategy for the development of Cambodia. The NSDP gives highest priority to poverty reduction and progress towards reaching the Cambodia Millennium Development Goals (CMDG) targets by 2015. …
