UNESCO/Saudi Arabia Fellowships Programme (Enhancing Palestinian Human Capital)

From 6 May 2009 Until December 2013 (4 years)

What is it about?

This project proposal builds on UNESCO’s belief that investing in education, in particular higher education, constitutes a key strategy to economic recovery in the Palestinian territories, as more qualified young Palestinians will be able to contribute to the reconstruction and development of the Palestinian society.

The assistance offered under this project aims at providing financial assistance to needy Palestinian students so that they may enter higher education institutions abroad during the autumn session of 2008 and complete a first diploma (either a BA or a technical diploma). A total number of 129 students will receive study grants (93 technical degree and 36 bachelor degree students) starting their academic studies in Fall 2008 (105 Students for Arab and Asian countries, 18 students for Europe and 6 students for the US and Canada) until completion of their first higher education degree either in 2010 (technical degree) or 2012 (bachelor degree).
