Public engagement in science and technology in Latin America and the Caribbean - RedPop experience

Mrs Massarani is exceptionally visiting UNESCO to present her work and experience with RedPop on science communication and public engagement in science and technology in Latin America and the Caribbean to the Natural Sciences Sector.
Mrs Luisa Massarani is an important figure in the popularization of science in Latin America and the Caribbean. In this context, she was invited on 10 November last to participate in the 2016 World Science Day for Peace and Development dedicated to Science Museums and Centers. Mrs Massarani graduated in scientific communications in Brazil, the United States of America and the United Kingdom which brought a diversified perspective to her work. Concurrently to her position as Director of RedPop, she is also a Professor/Researcher for the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ) and Latin American and Caribbean Coordinator for the Network of Science and Development SciDev.net. Her various publications concern science and the medias, scientific communication and science museums and centers.
