全球全民教育会议将于5月12-14日在阿曼召开，会议主要目标是确立2015年后全民教育方面的线路和战略。
By implementing the Dakar Framework for Action in 2000, over 1,000 participants from 164 countries affirmed their commitment to Education for All (EFA), which aims to provide a quality education for all children, young and adults, by 2015. A year prior to the World Education Forum, taking place in the Republic of Korea, the EFA partners are in the final straight. The meeting of Muscat, which will accommodate twenty ministers and deputy ministers of education in different regions of the world, will undeniably be the last opportunity for all EFA partners to monitor their actions before 2015.
Efforts made during the past fifteen years to carry out EFA generated unprecedented progress; however, the EFA goals will not be fully accomplished by next year. The EFA agenda holds all its relevance and importance. The meeting in Muscat seeks to develop the necessary measures to be taken in the coming months regarding the post-2015 agenda. EFA must occupy a dominant place, whether at national, regional or international level.
Reviewing the progress in achieving the six EFA goals, identifying holdups and ongoing initiatives, assessing the remaining steps to be taken in the process of EFA 2015: these are the targets fixed for this GEM. The Global Monitoring Report on EFA 2013-2014 and the initial findings of national assessments of EFA 2015 will also be discussed.
The GEM is intended to provide a global platform for dialogue, coordination and collaboration. The whole will be organized in an open and interactive manner through meetings, discussions and similar sessions provided throughout the three days of work.
The meeting will bring together 300 participants, including ministers of education and cooperation of UNESCO Member States, senior representatives of EFA agencies, the Global Partnership for Education, as well as representatives of multilateral and bilateral organizations, United Nations agencies and regional organizations, faculty, organizations of civil society, EFA main programs, from the private sector research institutes and foundations.
