Meeting of the International Scientific Committee of Volume IX of the General History of Africa

The International Scientific Committee of Volume IX of the General History of Africa will hold its fifth meeting, organized by UNESCO, in Havana, Cuba, from 23 to 28 January 2017.

The main objective of the meeting is to assess the progress of the work, review and validate the latest papers submitted by the authors and discuss the modalities for finalizing the volume by the end of 2017.

This meeting will also allow members of the Committee to exchange with Cuban researchers, artists, civil society and journalists on new approaches and concepts developed for the preparation of this volume.

As part of this meeting, a concert by Ray Lema and Cuban musicians will be organized to launch the Coalition of Artists for the General History of Africa in Cuba.
