YouthXchange- towards sustainable lifestyles; training kit on responsible consumption

This guide and the related website are intended as a tool kit to help teachers and trainers, NGOs and youth groups to help raise awareness of Sustainable Consumption and empower youth to put theory into practice. 

World Hunger “Feeding Minds, Fighting Hunger" 

The Feeding Minds, Fighting Hunger lessons were developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) as a starting point for teachers to introduce the topic of world hunger to their students. Three lesson plans are proposed for elementary, lower secondary and upper secondary education. On World Food Day, 16 October - and throughout the year - students all over the world can use these lessons to gain a better understanding of hunger and malnutrition.

World Heritage Kit

OzonAction Education Pack: A guide for primary school teachers

 

Developed by UNEP with the education expertise of UNESCO, this kit gives primary school teachers a simple yet comprehensive teaching tool to facilitate the inclusion of human and environmental issues linked to ozone reduction within the teaching curricula. It includes a guide for teachers and various teaching materials (video, cartoon, calendar, world map, game, UV-meter, etc…).

 OzonAction Education Pack for Secondary Schools

This Student’s Book is an integral part of the OzonAction Education Pack for Secondary Schools. It concentrates on the same issues as the Teacher’s Book: ozone layer depletion, protection and the health risks of strong ultraviolet radiation.

HIV&AIDS prevention  

ASPnet students in Gambia, South Africa and Uganda have contributed to the HIV/AIDS preventive education kit “Living and Learning in a World with HIV/AIDS” produced by UNAIDS in 2004, which consists of three booklets promoting non-discrimination and HIV/AIDS awareness in schools.

Education Kit on Combating Desertification  

This educational resource material consists of a teachers guide, a compilation of case studies, cartoons and a poster. It was first developed and launched by UNESCO in 2000 in collaboration with the Secretariat of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) to respond to the need to raise public awareness of this pressing environmental problem.

A Creative Approach to Environmental Education/Teaching Resource Kit for Dryland Countries 

The purpose of the kit is to help teachers transmit scientific information and environmental knowledge to their pupils in an entertaining and appealing way.
The longer-term objective is to develop the ability to combat land degradation and desertification among pupils and their communities while endeavouring to
conserve biodiversity.
