Organization of a Tripartite Seminar devoted to cultural activities in Afghanistan 

A Tripartite Seminar dedicated to cultural activites in Afghanistan is being planned for 2005. It will be financed by the Italian government and implemented in cooperation with UNESCO. 

The Tripartite Seminar will discuss the importance and viability of various Italian projects dedicated to cultural heritage as well as plans for future archaeological research and other projects to preserve Afghan cultural heritage.

Expected results:

- Two-day Tripartite Seminar on cultural activities in Afghanistan, financed by the Italian government;

- Evaluation of the practical and conceptual impact of cultural activities in Afghanistan, financed by Italian Funds-in-Trust;

- Assessment of needs of cultural institutions;

- Possible supplementary financing by the Italian government and identification of technical assistance needed to safeguard Afghan cultural heritage.
